THE ECHELON FOUNDATION

Echelon Wealth Partners is pleased to announce the creation of the Echelon Foundation.

At Echelon, we have always believed in making strong commitments to our communities and in doing what we can to secure better futures for others. The Echelon Foundation gives us the ability to provide support to those in need through a collectively focused effort.

Meet the Echelon Foundation

Over the years, one of our most resounding points of internal feedback has been advocacy for a corporate philanthropic platform to embrace social responsibility opportunities. In the spring of 2018, management responded by creating the Echelon Foundation.

We are a company of individuals who care deeply, for our colleagues, their families, and people within our borders and those beyond. In recognition of this benevolent spirit, the Echelon Foundation was established to be a trusted channel for contributions whose funds will be appropriately governed and allocated.

What is the Mandate of the Foundation

The mandate of the Echelon Foundation is to collect funds and allocate those funds to appropriate and vetted charities in accordance with the rules and regulations set out by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). Echelon will be contributing to the fund, with a cap, in a matching format, nationally, branch wide and individually.

If you have any questions regarding the function of the Foundation, please contact John Margaris.

Echelon’s Annual Impact Day

The most significant part of Echelon’s mandate is its annual Impact Day.

Employees are invited to nominate charities that meet certain criteria for consideration for Impact Day. The nominations are then shortlisted to three by a review committee. Once the three charities are identified staff participate in an information call where they will hear from the nominator and each of the charities. At the end of all the presentations, everyone is asked to vote for their choice to be the recipient of Impact Day fundraising.

Impact Day 2023

This year Impact Day was held on Thursday October 5th and the amount raised was comprised of revenue from Echelon’s various business lines and donations from various team members. Leading up to the main day, the Foundation held a silent auction as well as in-office events to augment the fundraising. Over $63,000 was raised for our 2023 Recipient, Hope For Dementia.

Hope for Dementia is a federal non-profit charitable organization whose mission is to support the cause of safeguarding healthy brains in our aging population. They are dedicated to supporting the prevention, early diagnosis, and treatment of dementia and other cognitive disorders
